Alghunaim ... committed

IN LINE with its vision to expand its horizon by producing high-value and diverse products, Delmon has started the local production of resin-coated Frac sand and ceramic proppant – the main raw materials required for fracking of shale gas.

Resin-coated Frac sands are environmentally safe sands and the future of hydraulic fracturing, while ceramic proppants can be one of the key components in the state-of-the-art process of oil and gas well fracturing. The company has also expanded its barite production by commissioning two new production lines.

As a leading manufacturing and processing company of mineral and chemicals for the oil and gas industry, Delmon is one of the major suppliers of all drilling additives, and processed chemicals catering to both upstream and downstream sectors.

The company is currently running supply contracts with some of the major oil and petrochemicals companies such as Saudi Aramco, Sabic and other major oil firms in the Gulf.

According to Ahmed S Alghunaim, managing director, Delmon Group of Companies, Delmon’s vision is to continue to maintain a diversified approach to meet the increasing demand for its products in the petroleum and industrial sectors in the Gulf region and elsewhere. “Our business is trying to meet the extra demand in processing raw materials needed for various applications in these sectors,” says Alghunaim.

“Through a continuous plan of expansion and development, Delmon group will remain a leading conglomerate delivering reputed and competitive products and technology,” he adds.

Delmon group, which was established in 1981 and is a part of Al Ghunaim Brothers Group, has registered a 20 per cent increase in exports this year by reaching out to new markets like the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Singapore, China, India, Sudan, Egypt and Iraq.

The group has five branches in Saudi Arabia and a satellite office in Dubai, UAE. The four branches are located in Hofuf, Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah while the head office is located in Al Khobar. Delmon also operates a logistics and procurement facility in Dubai to serve the increasing demand for its products in the Gulf. The company has the best people with good reputation and competitiveness for quality services. “Delmon’s most valuable ‘assets’ are its people and their ‘commitment’ to consistently deliver customer satisfaction; provide ‘excellence’ in whatever they do and most of all to give their clients ‘value for their money’,” says Alghunaim.

Some of the major products manufactured by the company are silica flour, Frac sand and proppant, silica sand, filter media products (sand, gravel and anthracite), oil-well drilling products, potassium chloride, industrial salt, barytes, calcium chloride, talc powder, calcium carbonate, bentonite, hematite, polybilt, waterproofing and coating products, insulation and industrial gasket products, and coloring master batches.

The company says it has a regular and long-term pipeline of supply contracts to various industries such as oil and gas, construction, chemicals, water treatments and others, in the region.

Alghunaim is very certain that there will be significant changes in the oil and gas market. Saudi Arabia will remain one of the key global players through continuous development of its natural mineral wealth, he feels.

According to him, Delmon’s business has improved over the past year with a number of committed projects in the pipeline and a remarkable increase in both infrastructural as well as oil and gas and petrochemicals projects.

The management of Delmon is committed to keep the group a leader in the market in supplying minerals and chemicals to the oil and gas industry. “Delmon will continue to aim for the best quality of product line up and the most efficient service we can offer through the coming years,” says Alghunaim.
