Saudi Aramco JV renews Jacobs’ contract

RIYADH: Jacobs Engineering Group said it has received a two-year contract renewal from Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (Satorp) for its subsidiary in the kingdom - Jacobs Zamel and Turbag Consulting Engineers (Jacobs Zate) - to provide general engineering services at Satorp’s facilities in the kingdom.

A joint venture refinery between Saudi Aramco and French energy major Total, Satorp is based in Jubail region of Saudi Arabia and has a capacity to process 400,000 barrels per day (bpd) of Arabian heavy crude oil.

Jacobs continues to provide a range of services, from basic engineering to Front End Engineering Design (Feed), detailed design, procurement through to construction management, commissioning support and handover of small to medium sized capital investments to sustain the operations of the Satorp Jubail II refinery.

The services are led by a dedicated team from Jacobs Zate in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, said the US company in a statement.


Basra Oil, Chevron to implement MoU

DUBAI: Iraq’s state-run Basra Oil Company and Chevron agreed to begin implementing a memorandum of understanding to develop fields in the south of the country, the Iraqi oil ministry said.

Executives from the two companies have signed an agreement which outlines a program to develop the fields, which includes studies to survey the reservoirs and extraction operations, said a statement posted on the oil ministry’s website.

Iraqi Oil Minister Jabar Al Luaibi announced in June that Basra Oil and another state-run company, Dhi Qar Oil, signed an MOU with Chevron.


Eni wins exploration licence offshore Egypt

MILAN: Italian oil major Eni said that a new concession agreement, aimed at governing an offshore exploration licence in the prolific East Nile Delta Basin of the Mediterranean Sea, has received approval by Egyptian authorities.

The exploration licence, named "Nour", is located approximately 50 km offshore in the Eastern Mediterranean, in water depth ranging from 50 to 400 metres, and covers a total area of 739 sq km.
