The company is steadily growing while maintaining measured techniques and methods to excel in what it does in order to provide a clear market edge that keeps its clients in need of its services

Al Yusr Industrial Contracting Company (AYTB), an integrated group providing a range of services and solutions to oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation and other major industrial sectors, is fast bracing to take on the new era of fierce competition and making necessary adjustments to remain ahead of the game and stay among the leaders of business.

"The last 40 years were full of challenges and the market have seen many ups and downs; yet AYTB has been able to sail in this rough sea and come out stronger and much bigger than when we started as an operation and maintenance services provider," says a company spokesman.

AYTB is currently a multi-disciplinary group serving oil and gas downstream and recently upstream sectors along with other major industrial sectors in the kingdom delivering top notch services using the latest technologies and methods. The company is steadily growing while maintaining measured techniques and methods to excel in what it does in order to provide a clear market edge that keeps its clients in need of its services.

"While others are focusing only on cost, AYTB is promising to deliver its services in both acceptable cost and top quality while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment," he notes.

Last year has been fairly exciting and very productive for AYTB, as it won a major construction project with Aramco in Safaniya. It has also signed other major contracts with Tecnicas Reunidas in Ras Tanura, Technimont/Kinetic Technology in PetroRabigh and ARGAS for Aramco remote sites services, he says.

Meanwhile, AYTB’s strategic plan is to meet the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in letter and spirit. "We are focusing on localisation while remaining competitive by investing in the training and development of young Saudi talents to meet market highest standards," he points out.

"We also recently expanded our operations in the rising industrial cities of Ras Al Khair, Turaif and Jizan. Automation of work processes is our focus and to improve safety and quality of work performed with increased efficiency, the introduction of vacuum excavation of trenches at our brownfield Safaniya project is a notable example of successful implementation of technology to replace labour intensive manual work," he continues.

Similarly, automation of pipe spool fabrication is another area of focus for the company. The latest technology acceptable to its major clients in the oil and gas industry is currently being tested and evaluated, he says.

AYTB has been always on the lookout for newer trends and developments in technology in its line of business. One of the most novel techniques has recently been introduced to the Saudi petrochemical industry is robotic cleaning for hard-to-clean convection section of ethylene furnaces and Texas Towers in oil refineries. The state-of-the-art technology and know-how is brought from the UK and recently tried in Petrokemya plant of Sabic.

Modularisation of process plants is fast catching up in Saudi Arabia and keeping pace with this trend AYTB is partnering with international companies to offer process skids to the oil and gas industry.

On the safety front, AYTB has always been proud to carry an excellent record that has been recognised by its clients and partners in Sabic and other international companies with many safety awards. It is worth mentioning that AYTB has just celebrated 5 million safe man hours in the Construction and Fabrication division and the lowest TRIR record of 0.08 in 2018.

Regarding competition, he says: "Needless to say, the competition in the market has become fiercer as the number of players have increased making the field more competitive. Nevertheless as they say, ‘when the going gets tough, the tough get going’".
